our story

We're a husband + wife duo living in Greenville, NC. We own and operate Man Gifts Co and Simple & Sentimental with the help of our awesome staff and office dogs. If you can't already tell from our businesses, we LOVE personalized gifts that are well-designed, practical, and arrive to customers quickly.

In the fall of 2016, I was a freshman at East Carolina University majoring in Interior Design. That December I decided to make an Etsy shop called “TDHDesign”, selling vinyl decals. I would make and ship orders from my dorm room with Nick's help. I quickly became known as “sticker girl” around campus, selling my decals in front of the Dowdy Student Store. Soon, TDHDesign had 500 sales on Etsy and I renamed the business "Simple & Sentimental". We needed capital to keep growing the business so we could keep up with orders and sell more than just stickers. We entered two pitch competitions and won first place in both. Simple & Sentimental received cash to kickstart the business. We signed a lease on a new office space in an incubator in Greenville and hired our first 3 employees. We added a ton of new products to our product line that year, Simple & Sentimental quadrupled its revenue from 2017 to 2018. Now Simple & Sentimental continues to grow and is known on Etsy for our gift boxes, tumblers, and personalized gifts.
